News Health: News Cleanse
Read time: 2 minutes

Happy Sunday,
“Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face in a mirror.”
James 1:22-23
News Cleanse
Well folks, for the season of Lent we’ll be taking a break from our regularly scheduled programming to deliver The Pour Over’s News Cleanse devotional.
Don’t you worry, it’s very News Health-y.
The devotions will be sent weekly on Sundays and are designed for The Pour Over’s broader audience to consider healthier news-consumption habits before Easter. A significant portion of the content will be remixed versions of what you all have already seen—and helped shape—through News Health. So, I expect this will feel less like going from apples to oranges, and more like going from Fuji to Honeycrisp.
Each devotion will invite you to ponder an idea related to news health, pray into it, and practice it through a short, simple exercise.
My hope is that, as the audience that has helped shape this content, you’ll find these reflections, prayers, and practices meaningful as you make space for the Spirit of God to move and speak in the lead-up to Easter.
And, I think you’ll be amazed at the difference 40 days of intentionality can make.
One request: please pray for the tens of thousands of new people we expect to sign up. Pray that they would be committed, pray that God would speak to them, and pray that they experience the peace that comes from turning down the volume on the news and re-centering on Christ.
What do you think?
Jason
P.S. You will get a bonus email from us on Ash Wednesday (3 days from now) as the start of the challenge.
Recommended: I frequently advocate for simply spending more time with Jesus, focusing on quantity time (quality will follow). One way I do that is with Dwell*, the best audio Bible app I've found.
